About

Founders and Guardians of Fakafekauaga

We are Falalahemotu(Avatele) and Makapatama (Vaiea), proud founders and guardians of Fakafekauaga—a Niuean village philosophy. Fakafekauaga, meaning “A village philosophy and way of being; rooted in service, interconnectedness, spirituality, and survival, dedicated to advancing the greater good of individuals, communities and the planet." It embodies the core human characteristics of interconnectedness, values-based living, love, reciprocity and genealogy. Through Fakafekauaga, we honour our collective heritage and strive to advance the well-being of individuals, communities and the planet. Our commitment is to preserve and promote these core values, fostering harmony and sustainability in all that we do.
